Controlling a HWC has never been easier - switchboard timers are complicated to setup accurately and laborious to change frequently. Being able to control your HWC easily from an app on your phone means you can take full advantage of cheaper tarriffs and special offers from your power authority, ideal for power companies that offer a free hour of power like Electric Kiwi or Contact with their 3 free hours. Or just save money by heating the cylinder once a day instead of everytime someone turns a hot tap on. When correctly installed and setup there should be no difference in water temperature at the tap so there is no danger from bacteria.
In most cases this kit will simply replace the wall switch & flexible cable connection unit already installed, however if your cylinder is connected by flexible conduit this kit can simply be installed adjacent to the existing connection. Kit comprises:
- 1 x Iconic switch plate fits standard flush boxes, assembly requires approx 60mm depth
- 1 x 20 amp switch mechanism
- 1 x PDL 356PB10MBT-VW pushbutton 15 amp (resistive loads) timer module can be controlled by pushbutton or Bluetooth or over the web with the Wiser Hub (not included). Setup using the Wiser App (by Schneider in the App Store), simply connect the kit to your phone using Bluetooth.
- Maximum recommended hot water cylinder element 3kW. For higher loads add a contactor to the circuit (eg GWD6703)
- Timer can be set 1 second to 24 hours or disabled
- Time clock can store up to 16 schedules: 1 minute intervals, daily and monthly
- Module settings retained for over 8 hours with no power - module must be live at scheduled "on" time unless independently powered
- Pushbutton can operate on/off or timer, could also be wired as a "boost" setup
- Iconic Bluetooth module LED indicator is programmable
- 1 x Flexible cable entry - does not suit conduit
